I had a bunch of leftover peas and I’ve been planting them since mid-March. The first round is ready to harvest.

I do love fresh peas!

Restaurants in Multnomah County are only open for takeout, so takeout it was for our anniversary this year. We chose Hatyai and had a delicious meal.
The unboxing:
All the delicious flavors!
Our anniversary portrait this year is a closeup.
Normally we would see a superhero movie, and it probably would have been Black Widow, the first female-led superhero movie of the long trail of anniversary superhero movies starring guys. But it was not to be. So we watched Batman Begins which I need to see again because I am watching all of the Christopher Nolan films.
Matt introduced me to Azul today. I really enjoyed the tactile sensations that came along with this game. The tiles were very soothing to the touch. The game was fun too.
Matt didn’t come of age during the Bieber era, so hair hanging in his eyes is not his favorite thing. Enter the whale spout.
The front-of-head-pony is cute on two-year-olds and forty-somethings!
It’s back catio season! And my unemployed status means the back catio can appear many more days of the week.
I enjoy working at my desk and watching the cats lounge in the sun.
This picture doesn’t show the area where Sentinel had his surgery, but it’s healing nicely.
The tree collard starts I received in the fall have been transplanted and seem to like their new space. I’ve got stakes up so I can keep them from flopping when they get bigger.
And the peas I planted in early March have made an appearance! I love fresh peas, so this is a very exciting development. I’ve been planting every two weeks or so in hopes of having a long harvest.
Matt’s gym is closed, but they’ve been having workouts online via Zoom.
So now, instead of wishing him a good workout at the gym, I get to see him working out in our home!
We’ve decided our date ritual during this pandemic will be that we buy a frozen pizza at Fred Meyer on Saturday nights. While we were there, I also picked up some lime for the garden.
I picked it up and then Matt carried it home!
You’ll notice the pandemic hair is waving at you.
Look at that snow fall! As you can see, it’s not sticking to the roads, but snow in March is not a Portland thing!
Matt and I took a drive to check out Battleground Lake, which a coworker had recommended as a potential summer swimming hole.
After a pleasant drive we found a small little lake with some nice hiking trails.
We walked around the inner hiking path and then longer the longer path that doesn’t have lakeside views.
The lake didn’t seem to have a lot of places to hang out when not swimming, but did seem like a fun place to swim, once swimming season happens. Until then, these birds reign supreme.
It was a fun excursion and I look forward to coming back when it’s swimming weather.
