“I Don’t Want to be Funny Anymore” Lucy Dacus
This song is thanks to Jan, who recommended it after (I think) the AWOLNation debacle in September.
I love the driving guitar sound, and her voice is so incredibly cool. It’s a great song of surrender.
I do not love reading the YouTube comments. Jesus. How female musicians survive in this world is beyond me.
Yay! I’m so glad you liked this song! As someone who has always considered herself the “funny one,” it really resonates with me.
I honestly feel like online comments have gotten worse over the last few years. There’s a website I used to visit every day. I hardly ever go anymore because the comments are all full of so much vitriol, particularly against women, immigrants, and Muslims. It’s like the alt-right found the site and took it over. 🙁
At that point, why even have comments? Sheesh.
Well that was an enjoyable 3 minutes! I love the song. Like you said, her voice is fab. I also see myself as the funny one and sometimes I wanted to be someone else…
Oooohhh…can you tell from the comment progression that I am working backwards through the posts that fell of my reader?
The previous post at the bottom of each post is my gateway.
You can thank Heather for that. She said it was a “must have” with the blog.
