Two postcards from the usual Minnesota source.
This one is a church that is a replica of a church in Norway that the usual Minnesota source for postcards has actually visited.
Here is a fun postcard from Vining. Note that the framing of the photo on top nearly cuts out the gas station sign.
Do you know what kind of boot that is? The church is very visually interesting. Looks more like it belongs in Russia than Norway to me.
Google searching tells me that the population of Vining was at 78 people in the 2010 census. Further searching tells me that the boot is part of the Nyberg Sculpture park, and is known as “The Big Foot.” So that’s as exact as it gets. Although I did learn that the sculptor’s daughter was a space shuttle astronaut.
