Trying out Induction Cooking

As I’ve finally realized that putting a gas stove in my house isn’t ideal, I have also discovered an inexpensive way to try my hand at an induction cooktop. It’s also a bonus because that burner doesn’t really work anyway.

So far, I’m impressed at how much faster it heats water, and am on a learning curve about scrambling eggs.

Sewing Chores Done

I bought four pairs of pants in September and I have finally accomplished hemming them. (I marked them up the first weekend I had them, so it was getting out the sewing machine that was the impediment.)

I also sewed up the cloth napkins I embroidered. I learned that it’s best not to embroider into the corner, like I did with the green, because sewing the top and bottom halves of the napkin together will make another border and it won’t match the one I’ve embroidered. At least not with my freehand method.

This was me practicing a blanket stitch and a blanket stitch wheel.

Birthday Celebration Part IV

Aside from a delicious meal with the BroMAunts, Matt, and Kelly, plus opening presents, I also got this blast from the past from my mom’s cookbook collection.

I had a great time going through the recipes.

And this drawing was attached. Note the lack of multicultural crayon options available to Gen X kids meant we had white face or blackface. Apparently, I wasn’t in the mood for white face when I drew this.
