Sara found this in a shop that hasn’t been open much during the pandemic. She wonders if the postcard still smells of the incense that was in the shop. I can say that it does, but not overly so.

Antares in Sun and in Disapproval
Antares doesn’t spend a ton of time on the back porch. There are always sounds that chase him back inside where it’s safe. Or wind. He really hates wind. But it was sunny and warm today and he wanted a dirt bath, so out he went.
Later, I took him for yet another vet appointment. When I brought him home, I unzipped his carrier and he jumped out, but a few hours later he jumped back in and gave me the eye.
He knows that he gets a treat if he goes in the carrier on his own. So I gave him that well-deserved treat.
How Much Does This House Cost?
Let’s play a fun game. How much is a house down the street from my house for sale for? It’s 700 square feet and its eastern neighbor is the wall the separates I-5 from the neighborhood.
It’s got some bright orange counters in the kitchen.
Are you ready to guess? Place your bets now. Once you scroll past this picture, you will find the answer.
Did you guess $300,000? If so, you are a winner! As will be the person who buys this house. I haven’t seen a $300,000 house in this neighborhood for a long time.
From the future, I can tell you that this sold for $302,000 on 7/8/21 to someone who lives in Honolulu.
PortlandMaps doesn’t say the last time it was sold, so we can’t have any appreciation fun.
A “Hike”
My company is having a fitness challenge and I get a virtual badge if I take a hike. So off Matt and I went.
We found a new park called Moulton Falls Park in Washington. It was less of what I think of as a hike and more of a flat walk through the woods. That works, though. It was a nice outing.
My grays are very sparkly in this picture. I’m not sure why.
Ferris Bueller Quote Spotted in the Wild
The question is, was it the students who tapped this Gen X classic, or one of their Gen X teachers?
SKS: Landmark Fine Goods
Sara tells me this postcard comes from a new bakery and boutique in Newport. Apparently Landmark Fine Goods sells candles, a thing I don’t like. Sara knows this and warns me away.
What I can get on board with is a bakery. Sara tells me one shares the space with the candle place and that it was good enough they went back twice. She neglects to include the name. It’s in the Nye Beach area and Google Maps gives me four different choices. Maybe the Blue Pig Bakery?
SKS Postcard: Oregon
Sara sends me a home-state postcard because she’s visiting her in-laws who also live in Oregon.
She reports that they did a lovely costal drive. Reading Sara’s message, I also got to see the different ink colors her mother-in-law has.
SKS Postcard: Joan Goal
I almost couldn’t find this one in the pile because it is much longer than a postcard and wasn’t in the envelope where I keep the backlogged pile.
Sara reports that this is a Humboldt County artist.
I looked up this website and it’s for sale for $2,199.00, if you would like to buy it. I wonder what happened to joangold and their website.
