I can’t recall the last time I enjoyed greatly a movie and simultaneously felt incredibly uncomfortable the entire time. Excellent acting all around. Wonderful settings and do ignore its “R” rating, it’s really a PG movie.

Why the discomfort? This is on my list of to sees as well.
I knew I didn't explain that well. I was uncomfortable because I felt such empathy with the main character. I wanted him to be able to speak easily and clearly and my wanting translated into a lot of "bunchy-ness" as my boss would say.
I have always loved Colin Firth (best Darcy ever). And I loved this movie. I empathized with him and felt the discomfort as well (closed my eyes a couple of times).
LOVED this movie. Firth was great, of course, but I was also greatly impressed by Geoffrey Rush's performance. The "cursing" scene was one of the genuinely funniest things I've seen in cinema in a while.
