Hey, remember how J.K. Simmons won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this film?* It’s because he’s amazing, as is Miles Teller. This was tense and engrossing and one of those films I was glad I was watching at home so I could talk back to the TV.
Cost: free from library
Where watched: at home.
*It was a really sweet speech, too.
(Also, having put in my time with bands of various forms, I can’t say that Fletcher as a character was doing any good as a teacher, but I was really impressed that when he cut the band off, everyone stopped on a dime. Back in the day, the inability of my bandmates to stop playing was a constant irritation.)

(This was the only poster that pictured both main characters)
I’ve heard so many good things about this, and I still want to see it. So many movies, so little time. I feel like Teller/Simmons is a good combo.
This is one of those good-but-hard-to-watch movies that means it sometimes doesn’t get watched.
